The only time I look inside my computer is once over 6-10 months when I clean it out. The rest of the time, it's under my desk.

Your money should be spent where your eyeballs are focused... a nice monitor.... and no, not one with LEDs around the edges. biggrin.gif

Not r really much different from reality. Look at social media and how everything is about style over substance. This gamer branding and bling is no different.

Funniest part is when people pick a GPU based on looks when it's going to be face down in their case. laugher.gif

It's not about functionality anymore look at gamer bling around. Appearance is everything.

Criticizing the name doesn't mean that's all we care about. When all we are given is the name, what else could we discuss?

That's why the EVGA marketing department got engineering to slap a billboard on the tops of the GTX 1080 and 1070 ACX 3.0 cards biggrin.gif

I'd be more concerned about how small that heatsink looks in the Source article... and AMD releasing a GPU overclocking tool... thinking.gif

I think that people are desperate to make the RX 480 more than what it's supposed to be. Its like when i tried to overclock the hell out of my 750 Ti so that I didn't regret buying a R9 270 instead.

Its a $200 card and the reference cooler just has to keep temperatures under control at stock conditions. I'm sure there are going to be cards that have better, open air coolers for more overclocking, but I wouldn't count on it being a whole lot better. This card is meant for people with a R9 280 or a R9 280X that are really, really old at this time.

I rather just people wait for Vega instead of already discussing plans about crossfiring and waterblocking 480s when they know Crossfire is very unreliable.

Yeah, but there are thresholds. If this card card max out games at 1080p and hit 60 fps, it would hit an important threshold... that's why the 970 was popular.

If you release a card but it can do max settings at 1080p at, say, only 50 fps, you missed the mark.

So I assume these same people talking about purpose or meaning of the name make fun of stuff like valve and steam as well right? The must make fun of Apple too, and many many more. Many programs on your comp have dumb and childish names, but as long as they work, and give you the d\options/features you need, do you give a hoot?
