Just having a laugh, personally I think AOTS is garbage.

It still doesn't mean I don't think Async and DX12 are going to be playing a big part in the close future.

Which is why my next card is going to be AMD they age like a fine wine.

Chev, well I can't speak for him.....he's just being Chev in an AMD thread rolleyes.gif

AoTS and DX12 will play a huge part in the furute...just as soon as NVIDIA cards can take advantage. Like magic every dev will make full use of DX12 features and Async.

From a technology perspective, I would hope Async Shading becomes a huge part of gaming. It's a way to increase efficiency.

It's already in consoles. The only thing holding it back is the speed in which developers update and write new engines... and how much money nVidia pay devs to not support it fully on the PC. biggrin.gif

Cold day in hell before you see a GameWorks™ title using Async Compute biggrin.gif - I'm sure nVidia are updating their GameWorks™ contracts to indicate this.

hmm they could have benchmarked some recent games , not a game from six years ago , three years ago and a hairworks game from last year

Should bench the new hitman , tomb raider and far cry games to get a better idea IMO

not reality, just their partners at ubisoft, bethesda, epic games, blizzard, take two, etc. Save this post, 2018 will see the features that AMD cards do now become a priority right in time for NVIDIA's similarly capable GPU's to begin rolling out. happened the same way with DX11.

Wait for TPU's performance summary, one or two games leaked benchies can go either way. Yesterday someone posted Batman benches on TPU forum where it was matching 980/390X and so easily faster than 970.

Dude, where did you pull those words from rolleyes.gif

The NDA driver which will be released tomorrow, enables the "nVidia style" boost feature on 480, and it's the only driver that fully support the card. One of my cards can boost to 1680 MHz, but can not hold it for long rolleyes.gif

Any driver without that feature is NOT the driver for 480.

nVidia 2016: Async Compute isn't a big deal

nVidia 2018: Async Compute is the best thing since sliced bread

i think we have some solid evidence IMO, Witcher 3, World of Tanks and Metro Last Light are all the most relevant games for benching and of course most objectively balanced brand wise.

that would be a good game to benchmark as it has an actual built in benchmark and it's a fairly new and modern game , not these three titles they chose

I think it uses UE4 too so it would be a good test
