[VC] First RX 480 benchmarks hit the web - Page 40

Like I said below VC article, here in Poland CD-Action is not any kind of respectable hardware reviewer, this is gaming magazine. Also those charts are containing many mistakes, like 380X performing better than overclocked 970 is some cases. They also selected WoT, CPU bound single thread limited game to test GPU. Overall not very reliable reviewer who also made a lot of mistakes in this particular test.

I hope that RX480 will match 390X, stock vs stock and OC vs OC. I sold my 980 Ti two weeks before price cut, and also I have monitor with FreeSync, so I want to to get some mid priced AMD GPU as temporary card and wait for Vega on it. I just hope I won't have to buy 390X with its power draw and heat. Don't get me wrong, I love those crazy cards with bulky coolers, crazy memory bandwidth and etc, but still, this is not reasonable way to go, especially for someone who wants PC to be silent under load and has very high ambient temperatures during summer.

Lol most of us were expecting GTX970 - GTX980 perf to begin with.

This. With sprinkles of endless OC headroom...I.E. wishful thinking in my case.

Its pretty telling that you are quick to use the troll card every single time it goes a different direction than what you hoped for. Sorry buddy but Im not falling for that tongue.gif

Down to earth as always actually I have been rather pessimistic and that is why it now looks better than expected.

200 dollars/euros, 100-150W, 390X perf and perhaps some OC headroom that is a product that in the not so glutinous market will find huge demands.

I did and still, I am betting the 980ti will sell for more second hand than the 480 will when vega is out.

My post from that thread:

There's absolutely no way this is true, no one should believe this.

Very good move. RX480 will be two times cheaper than what I got for my 980 Ti and I will be able to utilize FreeSync on my monitor. 980 Ti wasn't enough to play the most demanding games at 3440x1440 on satisfying settings anyway, so I wouldn't play them anyway until Vega/1080Ti is out. And also I sold 980 Ti before price cut and before Pascal prices and availability stabilize, lowering 980 Ti value significantly, and before it ends up like 780Ti, gimped and unwanted even for 1/3 of release price.
