now that I think about it. people are the one hyping it not AMD and those silly leaks. I don't really care. I NEED an AMD card for my freesync monitor. nvidia is an ass for not supporting freesync whilst it is a standard

And even less importantly to makea snyde comparison between a 4GB and a 3.5GB card, as if they are proving some grand point, and as if 500MB would even make a difference in those two ram-bloated games.

Personaly I think the point is that they sold consumers a lie. That alone is worse than any performance drops from those 500 MB that I could not care for. Imagine what other things they could be doing behind ower backs.

edit:

regardless I'm still going to get one for my second build. my Freesync monitor will benefit from it once I replace my monitor with an ultrawide g-sync monitor

AMD hyping?
Lol.

Exactly. Nvidia lied to our faces, and an excuse like "well consumers can just avoid those games" as if the purpose of a 970 wasn't to play games, is perhaps the lamest excuse I've heard other then anandtech's refusal to get more writers because theirs are all part time and too busy to do their job.

I can see the cheap 4GB reference version paired with i3 6100 as the ultimate console killer budget rig. But people who want more performance,eg. to drive 1440p, should rather grab a 1070 (if they can find one in stock, that is)

You would be avoiding that game with a full 4GB card too. Didnt Nvidia already rectify the situation with partial refunds etc?

I dont understand the salt, I guess. Its been a long time, and people are mad, still. When they are trying to play a game that just plain requires a better card, they complain about what they bought.

That you traded another 9 months of usage of a $700 card for 9 months of usage of a $200 card, so that you could avoid $100 of resale depreciation? And that doesn't even factor in the $50 depreciation of the RX480 in that time.
