Once the AIB cards drop we will find out if its just power limiters and temperature holding it back or if its like pascal and it was just pushed to the end of the road.

Unfortunately more waiting.

I'm a fanboy for the underdog. Would love AMD to stick it to Nvidia just once! redface.gif

Meh only 970 level? I wasnt expecting it to be that poor.

Was expecting 980 and above to be honest. Shows how far AMD is behind despite a node shrink and architectural changes.

Disappointing.

Vega might as well be 1080 level if its anything to go by.

$20 bucks says Linus Tech Tips gets the first reveal on Youtube....

So if that happens, everyone in this thread PayPals me $20 bucks.

You also forfeit all rights to dispute anything uttered by said user. Payment for losing said bet must be made within 3 business days. Failure to do so is a further agreement by you, the post reader, to pay daily compounding interest of no more than 75%. Legal action will follow to collect outstanding balances. You also agree to pay umeng2002's attorney fees in case a law suit is filed to collect your debt. We still don't know yet, but it's not looking good so far. I'll still reserve judgment on the 480 until people here have the cards and start benching them.

Yeah. If its not 980 level at stock its going to be pretty blah. All it has is the price and power consumption backing it. And that will be moot in places with jacked up prices. Doesnt really bode well for Vega

I mean... its $200 bucks... how can any expect it to beat a GTX 980 lol...... its 2-3 times its price.

From the Firestrike benchmarks which I think are real, it looks to be around the performance of a max overclocked GTX 970 and a stock/reference clocked GTX 980.

But then again these are synthetic benchmarks, so we don't really know how it's going to perform in games.
