Started submitting to HWBot - is there an active team(s)?

Is there an overclock.net team? How do I apply to join?

I'm a rookie....I don't do LN2 or anything. Just custom water. But very interested in getting involved more in the community.

There is indeed an active team for OCN: http://hwbot.org/team/overclock.net/

To join our team, you would go to Your account's page by clicking the "My Account" button at the top. Then scroll down to the team section, and you should be able to select "Overclock.net" as your team.

Additionally, here on our forums we have postbits for those on our team who have submitted at least five points/boints worth of submissions under our team's banner. More information on such is over here: http://www.overclock.net/t/803475/hwbot-postbit-information/0_40

We also have an OCN HWBot team thread here on the forums ( http://www.overclock.net/t/188400/overclock-net-hwbot-team/0_40 ), as well as a Skype chat where a wide variety of things are discussed, but predominately benching, and how to improve our scores as well as techniques for benching (that for some reason I can't find the thread - @xxbassplayerxx or @Rasparthe, would you guys happen to have that handy by chance?)

By the look of things, you're also in the Novice league now, which is something that happens after you've been on the site for three months. You will remain in that division until your account reaches a year old, at which point you'll then be automatically moved to the Enthusiast division. As you are now in the Novice division, I would recommend taking a look in at our Novice Nimble threads (most recent one is here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1599678/novice-nimble-9-setting-a-new-record/0_40 ), a competition in which teams working together to improve their scores is the priority (over the individual effort the Rookie Rumbles were). @Noxinite has graciously taken up leading the charge for the Novice Nimbles, and by the look of things we just cinched our fifth win in a row.

Also, we tend to run a wide variety of competitions here on the forums, with the current one being a push for team power points. It ends in two days, but it's still a fun one to participate in: http://www.overclock.net/t/1598906/2016-hwbot-team-point-challenge/0_40 I do not know if we are doing one next month or not here on the forums (our benching and events editors would know this), but I suspect there might not be one due to the focus our team will have on the upcoming Team Cup, which starts on July 1st.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask away!

Looks like I have a lot of reading to do. lol

I went ahead and joined the team on the HWBot site. I'll work on getting some more submissions done in the next few days.

Thanks for all the info!!

Yeah, some of the guys jokingly say I have no idea what a "short answer" actually is tongue.gif

...... Well, at least when I'm typing on a full fledged keyboard.

I'm having issues with the Unigine benches. My firestrike scores are really good. The Unigine benches are lagging, big time.

I disable all but 2 cores, and disable hyperthreading, and overclock the 5820k to 4.9, but it doesn't seem to make a dent at all. Something is binding it up still. Ideas?
Firestrike takes advantage of multicore/thread CPUs since there is a specific CPU test. Heaven is OK at 4 cores for example (in my experience),but you need to increase CPU frecuency. Using high BCLK along 125 or better strap is better for the 5820K. OC memory enhances global score but not that much. In the end Heaven Extreme or Basic is more a GPU test, you should change drivers and work with options there.

...and of course rise GPU clocks and graphic memory clocks too smile.gif. Running tests at benchmark resolution, and tweaking windows services, UI helps but you have to test for yourself smile.gif. There might be a Unigine Heaven guide there.

Heaven won't use any more than 2 cores. Neither will Valley. That's why I disable hyperthreading and all but 2 cores on the processor, so I can get a higher clock out of it, as Valley is really CPU bound.

I can get a single card to run decent in the Unigine benchmarks, but as soon as I get that 2nd going, it's just horrible.

I'm using 353.62 driver version...I tried the newest driver, and then another fall back, 355.82, but it didn't help.

This is pathetic.....
2x 980TI @ 1525 / 2125

2x 970 @ 1598 / 2098

Something's wrong. lol

you didnt thought that with just two cores your SLI is having some serious botteneck? Then, for 980 Ti SLI you need a lot of CPU freq smile.gif.

Yeah...Valley and Heaven don't use any more than 2 cores. It helps the to get a higher overclock out of the processor, if you disable hyperthreading and all of the cores except the ones you're using, as it gives you more thermal headroom.

Some of the best processors for Heaven and Valley runs, are 2 core processors. I've considered buying a G3258 just for this purpose. lol

Sadly, I know very little when it comes to the Unigine benches, as I'm more of a Catzilla guy.
