Installing new M.2 drive in laptop

Thread Starter
Ok I just bought a new laptop and decided to buy a m.2 drive for it. The laptop on came with a 1 TB standard drive. My question is how do I do a fresh install of windows on the m.2 drive? I dont have any windows software but the laptop came with windows 10 installed. I just want to make sure ill be able to activate windows if I do this without having to buy it.

Since your laptop came with Windows 10 preinstalled, the license key should be embedded in the BIOS.  Just pop the new SSD in and install Windows 10 using installation media (DVD or USB) you created with the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool.  During installation, Setup shouldn't ask for a key, and Windows 10 should automatically activate once online (you can double-check in Settings -> Update & security -> Activation).

I am assuming of course that you know for sure that this laptop is capable of using an M.2 drive.
