They allowed me to go 1557 from 1418mhz. also increased power consumption to 220w. so they actually did something.

They NEEDED a perfect release for this card and they screwed up.Maybe they wanted at all cost (dumb) to keep a low TDP and communicate around it to counter Nvidia ? My question is does a 8 pin PCIE power delivery will take the TDP off the roof and make that card to heat up like no tomorrow ?

Looking at pcb, it does seem to be well built and properly engineered, just needed 8pin instead of 6pin.

I've been running benchmarks constantly with overclocking, underclocking, undervolting, messing with ram speeds and I have had zero issues. I'm not so sure how substantial these "claims" are. You can't claim them as proof without actual proof. For all we know these people saying it fried their pcie slots are trolling for reaction. Until it happens to me (on my budget mobo msi 970-g46) I don't believe it.

So, you're saying it is a bummer? The thing is selling like hot cookies!

I fear it's not that simple, engineers know what they're doing, it's marketing issue, not engineering.

If you just raised them all the effect is that the trip points for throttling go up, so you can push volts up, so you can push clocks up. Has zero to do with power delivery sourcing.

Yeah... 25x the supply of the 1080 and already sold out everywhere. Something tells me that with the number of RX480 cards already sold... we would be hearing about more dead motherboards if this issue were true. It could be true...but I am not buying it until I see more hard evidence from reputable posters who post things which make sense (not a single PCIe slot dying while the others still work).

I am also expecting the GTX 1060 to beat the RX480 at first only to lose out in around 4-6 months time as appears to be the trend over the last 4 years or so.
