You have some links stating this about the 950/960? The only issue with the 960 I've seen is with the Strix, and that was pulling more power from the 6 pin; not the PCI slot.

Also not sure if this was posted.

As you know, we continuously tune our GPUs in order to maximize their performance within their given power envelopes and the speed of the memory interface, which in this case is an unprecedented 8Gbps for GDDR5. Recently, we identified select scenarios where the tuning of some RX 480 boards was not optimal. Fortunately, we can adjust the GPU's tuning via software in order to resolve this issue. We are already testing a driver that implements a fix, and we will provide an update to the community on our progress on Tuesday (July 5, 2016).

Can't RX480 run on just 3 VRMs since they seem to be overbuild?

i don't know, you'd have to ask the smart people on the amd discord for that answer, i don't know any of that stuff, but they're cool to talk too, they know a lot of things

Where is this AMD discord located? Could you please provide a link so that I can read?

Thanks

They aren't 2.2A each, they are 1.1A ... just as PCPer said.

Here is the spec sheet by Molex, who makes them, and you can see in plain view, on page 2, they are 1.1A per pin or 5.5A total. At 12 VDC, that translates to 66 watts total on all 5 pins.

http://www.molex.com/pdm_docs/ps/PS-87715-200.pdf

The weak link is the PCIe connector on the motherboard where the card plugs in ... just as PCPer and Toms Hardware has said.

The card, without overlocking, running Metro Last light, pulls between 6.5A and 7A on the PCIe motherboard connector. As you can clearly see, that exceeds the rating of the connector on the motherboard.

They is why new MB have much better PCIE slots.

Are you intentionally ignoring the link I provided to the GTX 960 Strix showing that from the PCIe connector they only pull 30 watts?

Zero issues here, running them in crossfire.
