Corsair AX1200i...whats wrong???

Hello guys

So, 7 days ago, i upgraded from 3770k to 6700k, i got new ram (Corsair 16GB 3200 LPX DDR4) new motherboard (GB Z170X Gaming 7 G1) and i kept my old PUS, AX1200i

everything was fine first 3 days, then next morning my PC wouldn't turn on, fans and LED will turn on for half a second and then turn off immediately.

I tried removing the GPU, SSD, H110i, nothing would make my PC to turn on, basically leaving just the mobo and cpu cables on, i even tried to reset the BIOS, remove the BIOS battery, i tried to power on the PSU manually with a wire, still, didnt work...

I tried my backup PSU and vuala, it worked...pc booted up. Then i took my AX1200i out of the case, tried powering it on again with a wire manually and it worked, it turned on, i put it back in and my computer booted up...

This happened on day 4 and day 7, 2 times in 3 days...

What could be the case of this problem guys??

If you have confirmed that the problem is the PSU you should send it to Corsair for RMA.

RMA...bummer dude... I'm going through an RMA process with my ASUS GPU right now and it's no fun waiting but I'll hopefully have a good working GPU again...best of luck! I've heard Corsair RMA is decent.

Did you upgrade the MB bios to F7? If not do so and load optimised defaults and reset. Do not put any beta bioses. Gaming 7 Mb is really good i own it too and it's the best MB i ever had until now. Btw if the Pc turn on and off you can have CPU problem, or RAM, remove memories and try with 1 stick only (change slots)

Hey

yes i have upgraded to F7 today, it still happened within the day again,

Steps i done:

1) Swapped, removed etc RAM, didn't boot (fans would spin for 1 sec)
2) Removed Motherboard and CPU cables, didn't boot (fans would spint for 1 sec)
3) Tried to manually boot the PSU when having the CPU cable on the mobo and also when disconnected, manually via a wire didnt boot again fans would spin for 1 sec)
4) Connected an EVGA PSU to CPU and Motherboard, and boom, it booted.
5) Connected the Corsair again to Motherboard and CPU and it booted....***?!

If it was the CPU wouldn't it be happening all the time? PC shouldn't even boot ever if it was the CPU...no?

Corsair AXi series should have a test button on them. Disconnect every cable from the psu, take it out and plug it in to the electrical outlet. Hold the test button. If you get a green light after a few seconds and the fan runs, its good to go.
