I am hitting a core clock wall, whatever added voltage I put on t card it wont go beyond the 1450Mhz I am achieving with 1.23V. My ASIC is 77.9% so not bad but the card woudl crash on me while starting Heaven or a demanding game.

I cant modify the power limit above the 5% Wattman or TRIXX allow me as it seems POWERCOLOr has locked the BIOS as such, so is that power limit my blocking factor if I want to reach higher clocks?

Yes, power limit can throttle the core clock.

PowerColor locked the BIOS for a reason…
The VRMs on the card are terrible.

You can mod the power limit (idk if PowerColor's official high power BIOS is available but you can always use Polaris Bios Editor + atikmdag signature check patcher) but BE CAREFUL don't blow up your card. PowerColor really ****ed up there.

Core looks nice! My early reference card needs a bit more voltage for 1400 MHz (about 1.150 V)

2250 mem clock though… you might be getting a lot of memory errors (which impact performance), check that with HWiNFO!

Hi, new here and to overclocking in general. I got a Sapphire RX 480 Nitro OC 8GB (the one with 1306 clock speed).
I have some pretty mixed results in heaven benchmark, test settings are :

Render:
Direct3D11
Mode:
1920x1063 4xAA windowed
Preset
Custom
Quality
High
Tessellation:
Normal

core clock : 1315@1100mV (slight undervolt)
now memory :
default (2000 Mhz), 975mV I get :
23.2 min, 55.4 avg, 113.6 max, score 1395

2145@975mV :
23 min 181.6 max, 51.3 avg, 1292 score (?)

2125@975
25.9 min, 56.3 avg, 122.9 max, 1419 score

2120@975mV, with 50% power draw increase :
13.9 min, 58 avg, 100.3 max, 1461 score

Any ideas if I can squeeze more out of the card? I have a 3440x1440p monitor so I need all the power I can get haha!

Thanks!

Edit: the weird resolution is because of RDP, I'm not in front of the PC now.

^regarding the 1500 score you are getting, Don't you have memory errors at 2250 ? max i can get is 2170 with no errors, at 2180 i get errors and my benchmark's scores drop by 50%

my best heaven score with 480BIOS and 1450Mhz core 2250Mhz memory was around 1480mark. then I flashed the latest 580BIOS(red dragon) and could OC my card core to 1475Mhz and went beyond 1500points

with the consequnec of plenty of memory errors reported in HWINFo where I had zero with my original 480BIOS

I am working on finding out better about 580BIOS in the POLARIS editor thread

Was running some fire strike today and thought I'd jump in on the thread. I believe I can squeeze a few more MHz out of the memory. This was done at 1.33v using VRMTool. Currently under water; temps stayed under 50c throughout the bench run.

EDIT:

Didn't realize my pic was so rubbish. Was running 1490/1900 and 4.8GHz on the 8350
