Couldn't they just kill AMD by releasing it at 200?

thats the current topic, or at least a few posts ago.

If these graphs are real I expect the real word performance to be about on par with the rx480 probably giving you a slightly more efficient card at a bit of a higher price.

Received pricing for this card. The 3GB version is seems to be $240-250 while the 6GB version seems to be $280-300. Final prices yet to be confirmed.

$250 is unreasonable for a 3GB card...

we've established that 3GB is MORE than enough to max out games at 1080p and play at 1440p.....

Just... No. Nothing about what you said negates what I said. I clarified my comment to reflect that it was a mock up GPU because the PCB had been cut. It came from the lab and was hand assembled and the backplate was held on with wood screws. All the GPUs in the demo machines had science project looking coolers, so they wanted the mock-up to show what the final product looked like, and have something to hold up, even if it meant there was no GPU on the PCB.

I remember that day well.

Currently, yes it is. You're not likely to be memory starved given NVidia's memory compression techniques. BUT, I do fear for future games. Though, mainstream cards are not particularly known for their longevity.

Could be worse.

if it were truly just a few dollars of difference, they could just reuse their high-end cooler and strip off parts during production to make it slightly cheaper.
but it doesn't seem to be the case, they've made an entirely different design instead, and obviously used a lot less aluminum and copper.

Looks like you're right. Only data I could find was from the GTX 500 series and HD6000 series.

Nvidia had an approximately $30 delta overall from high end to low end

AMD had approximately $20 delta overall
