I like WhyCry's graph much better

Much better. Every time a manufacturer comes out with graphs such as the one in the OP at least a dozen sites should recreate them with the bars starting from 0 and calling them out on it and saying: "this is how it should be done".

Regardless of the performance, the desired target market simply does not want to spend over $250 for a gpu. That's an artificial line I know, but not everyone and their brother is a hardware enthusiast out there and limits are set price first and foremost.

If they price this with the 480 in the 200-250 bracket and it is indeed on par/10% over and they'll have the best xx60 card in generations. Above 250 and they'll miss the target market.

Its Pacsall , like to clock about 10% better if that. Meanwhile the AIB 480s are coming and we now the heavily capped ref cards can clock 5-10% numbers. Once the next 15% opens up the we are in dx12 1070 territory almost long past the 1060 territory .. the 1060 vs AIB 480 is going to look quite weak for the price. In Dx12 it will be looking really poor. If the 1060 is on par the 980 in dx12 , they are going to have some issues.

Couple that with 6gb of ram vs 8gb - less ram bandwidth also . I just don't see this thing blowing the 480 out of the water at all if the specs are right.

It will beat the ref 480 for sure, the AIBs 480s it will have a very hard time beating convincingly.

I'm hoping this is the case after their recent 60 series card. Pretty much everyone agrees the GTX 960 was a very bad card when it came to fps per dollar.

Wonder how the 1060 will stack up to a 970....

Well, if those slides are legit, 1060 beats 970.

Very big if, but it can be legit.

Well not good news for AMD...

1060... maybe same level of performance as a 480, lets forget the slides for a moment... Same performance, maybe slightly more, maybe better overclocking...and I bet for the same price too...or around $300...

Iirc nvidia started those graphs wink.gif anyway, the gtx 1060 will be faster then rx 480. That was damn obvious from start. But will it be significantly faster in dx 12? Doubtful.

Around $300 is hardly RX 480 price.

The bolded part is exactly how the beyond retarded hype train for the RX 480 started. AMD said '1.5 times as efficient as R9 390 at the same performance level'.

Then people started speculating with performance levels, started speculating with overclockability, clock speeds, and in the end it turned into a 1070 killer that makes it beyond 1.5GHz on the stock vapour chamber cooler and only sets you back $199.

Only the price being correct of course.

So please, stop it with the nonsensical hype. nVidia will tell us where the card slots into the market. Let's appreciate those as and when.
