Hold on, this is not console gaming stuff, we want a healthy industry that does not likely include Facebook as such a driver of industry practices. We as consumers want all the competition about to flood the market, so yes next gen has a good bar to start with, let's not dirty this including Facebook as "the other offering" we want many competitors and Facebook a tiny footnote in an a reference to the history of human communication and vr as a huge step in this front.

Bring on the resolution, body tracking, eye tracking, OH my BRING IT ALL!!!

Unfortunately I think we will be stuck with Facebook for a while bro. They have invested to much money to let it go this quick. Hopefully we can get them to change their crap business tactic though by voting with our wallets. thumb.gif

Is it just me or is VR a gimmic that is going to die out just like 3D gaming did
post #56 of 119
Wow, sure is a lot of negativity regarding VR around here.
I use my VIVE (almost) daily, and enjoy it a lot. Audishield in particular is fantastic imho.

edit; p.s.

I am very prone to motions sicknes, DK2 made me figurativly suicidal.
No sicknes at all with the vive, as long as I don't look down a lot. Not seeing my feet, makes me sick for some reason.

haha.. THIS..!

i don't own any VR or tried it yet.. but i think the vive done well.. if they didn't show up, VR is already dead by now. Many people liked Vive but few just bought it yet due to very expensive. by the time its already affordable for the most of us and the support on games are widely with Triple A games the sales will expand, we should wait for the next version of vive or the other thing

It's not a gimmick, like 3D. It's a paradigm shift that will change the world.

All of the people who think VR is "just a gimmick" have obviously never tried it. I thought it was just a gimmick too, and way too expensive. And then I tried the HTC Vive, and had to buy one right away. Everyone who tries it has their mind blown.

So much zero interest. I have zero interest even trying it. Always has and always will be a gimmick. Like 3D. This attempt at a new and refreshed relaunch will fail once again. Only the hardcore tech nerds will buy it and praise it as the second coming. And that is not very many compared to the majority that are casual gamer's.

How can you say any of this if you never tried it? Just the definition of stupid. Then again your posts are never filled with much intelligence. I've always thought you have to be a troll account.
