Well I'm just a volunteer so I don't get paid sadly. But I've heard from those who do that a) the pay isn't very good (50 cents per quality post) and b) they work you like donkeys. There are better ways to make money... >_>

Those rates make me weep . If only you knew the offers I've had ;) (seriously).

I can clearly see the 480 is an awful card and AMD are the worst maker, they are always the worst (I hope Nvidia pay better).

LOLWUT? I'm out of here, seems I have no choice but to take those offers. Christ they pay well, though I worry a little about my gait for a few days.

Ahum, I think it's time I left the thread.

Here is what Gibbo ocuk states about this, one of the biggest seller of all brands, he has 2000 480 Nitro units incoming and you think he order those if he had issues with the reference model? biggrin.gif

It is panic that has no doubt being created by parties to try and hurt AMD sales.

The facts are all modern PCI-E gaming cards can and do exceed PCI-E limits on the voltage, we have not seen any failures on motherboards from this at all for past several years. All the current NVIDIA and AMD cards can draw more than PCI-E limit and no damage has being caused.

It is nothing new, but for some reason some select individuals trying to make it sound like a bigger problem than it is and one which only effects RX 480 when in reality all cards are equally effected.

I would not worry, of course some people will still be frightened by such scare mongering and as always we pride our selves on customer service so anyone who does not want to chance it can simply return their card, but cards such as 960, 970, 380, 390 etc. can also draw more power than PCI-E specification and no one made so much noise about those cards.

Also AMD have already announced a fix for those who want to stay within PCI-E regulations and the driver that resolves this shall be released on July 5th, so there really is nothing to worry about.

This was obvious from the start. One look at the system of the person complaining showed how amateur their complaint is.

Why has then AMD come out to state there's a problem and they will be rolling a fix?

Gibbo may be the owner of oc.uk,all nice and dandy but he's not anyone from AMD.

Plus the fact he ordered 2000 RX 480's Nitro means nothing since those will be custom PCB.

watching someone running 1410mhz on a 480 atm.
15k firestrike passed.

Its about trust, being the biggest re-seller of cards if its been an issue to question Gibbo wouldnt have order 2k cards.
its as simple as that.

that you dont choose to take that as validy is up to you but the most candid people state there is no problem except nvidia fans that is trying to ruin amd, isnt that something you should be concern with instead?
wouldnt you want to worry that Nvidia sold cards that they knew were defect that burned computers and that any nvidia card maybe can do that isnt that a bigger issue to worry about?

Lot of things to worry about but I take Gibbo on what he say as he has a reputation to uphold and that is a big thing for a re-seller.

This will just stop after a while as with any false rumor. Many cards used more power through pci-e before this
