2016 PC in a Desk Build

Hey guys, getting ready to do a new build for 2016 (and my bday this month) and I want to try and tackle a custom build in a desk. I've seen all sorts of cool ideas and I'm between building a desk from scratch, or picking up a motorized sit/stand desk and just trying to fab up a huge metal tray insert for the bottom of it with a custom peice of plexi for the top.

Any desks you guys have seen in general that would make a good starting point for this build?

Plan on doing all custom watercooling with acrylic tubing to keep everything as cool and clean as possible. Need to have enough work space on the desk for 3 monitors.

Any suggestions going into this product will be much appreciated. I'll be ordering all of the hardware for this build next week and I'll try to update this regularly through the build process.

I think that would not be a good idea. Plastic is expensive - think minimum 1/4 inch thick. Can you polish the edges or will you have to pay for that too?. It also will scratch and mar easily to say nothing about accidentally spilling something on it that will wreck the finish, Glass is the way to go, and tempered glass would be the best.

Yeah after reading it seems like tempered would be the way to go.

Thanks for the feedback.
