Projects of the Month for July 2016 - Page 8

I haven't used them, I don't own any AMD cards. AMD and ATI before them have historically had terrible linux drivers. These new drivers are showing improvement, so hopefully there are less hoops that need to be jumped through to get things working properly.

You may want to look at the release notes, not sure what this means regarding proprietary drivers.

Ok, so I need to install some open source OpenCL (which is already open source, right?) I don't think the AMDGPU-Pro driver is out yet from what I can find on the web.

Yes, OpenCL is open source.

The AMDGPU-Pro driver is available from AMD's site. Click on AMDGPU-Pro Driver Version 16.30 for Ubuntu 16.04. Or it may be in your distro of choice software repository.

I just had the same thing happen a few minutes ago.  I was working on one of my other rigs, came back to my main rig, and it was super laggy.  Once I finally got BOINCTasks up front, I saw that I had 8 DENIS tasks crunching. :D

It is good to see the project back up and running.  It seems to be a pretty worthwhile medical project, and when it was up and running tasks the admins were very responsive.

Congrats!  It's a wonder that project can still find messages from WWII to decode.
