[CB] GTX 1080, Which partner card is the best? - Page 20

I got quite a surprise today. Straight up confirmation from a friend at an AIR partner that NVIDIA bins GPUs for FE. I had heavy suspicions based on testing close to 100 cards, but now I have confirmation.

explains why my 1080FE did 2114 on firestrike and 1080AMP can't even reach 2050

The Phoenix costs about 71 more usd where I live, is it worth it? Have any of you had trouble with any of these two cards?
Cheers,

Palit and Gainward use the exact same card.
Glh or Goes Like Hell and Gamerock Premium have identical clocks as well.
Palit is for the asian market while Gainward is the brand for europeans. Both GLH and Gamerock Premium are binned cards.

Its the best GTX 1080 and 1070 out there that beats everything in cooling.
There is one con about the cards though: They use about 2.5 slots. Almost occupy 3 slots because the heatsinks are just massive thick. Hence the great cooling

Not surprised honestly. I am definitely happy with my FE (1070).

Those brands are Europe/China-only.

Here is an idea how quiet Palit/Gainward cards really is.
The Asus Strix is much more noisy.

Too bad he have a lot of background noise, but you atleast get the idea here.

Founders Edition

Asus Strix 1080

Palit GTX 1080 Premium

ffs

Well they do charge a premium for that binning, if true. And really, that 75MHz means nothing when it comes to actual gaming.
