Once again.. Nothing to do with Async.

DX12 just allows AMD hardware to stretch it's legs. If heavy use of Async was implemented you'd know it because AMD would have a parade.

Yeah. For AMD DX12 brings them to Nvidia DX11 level and maybe beat them if the game favors GCN. ASync is cherry on the top. BF1 apparently will have ASync in DX12.

if DX12 actually brings Maxwell fps down here then you need to compare best to best - i.e. 980Ti DX11 vs Fury X DX12 .. hows that look ?


+ of course see if Pascal does better (for example DX12 1070 vs DX12 Fury X 1070 and then also DX11 1070 vs DX12 Fury X)

Looking forward to when the "real" DX12 games come out.. I have high hopes for BF1, these patches don't take advantage of that much at all. Although AMD did get a pretty big boost in this one.. Nvidia not bad either, this game is hard on CPU's so DX12 comes in handy. thumb.gif

Why does it need comparison? It is what it is,its a standalone comment from where im sitting.

I cringe everytime I see new DX12 versions of games, and not because I have an nvidia card.

Why not Vulkan instead? They are already working on a linux version, so why not just use Vulkan and kill two birds with one stone.

Probably marketing more than anything..

DX12 to Vulkan or vice versa is said to be pretty easy, so it may still be coming. Either way these patches don't really show off the new API's to well, we need games built on them from the ground up. We'll probably only see them towards 2018 unfortunately.. And at that point i agree with you, Vulkan makes DX12 irrelevant imo, Vulkan works on everything, so I'm sure quite a few studios will just go that route before long. thumb.gif
