Yes, sir. The exact same point I'm making. Zoom in=bigger textures which use up cache. Zoom out=gpu vendor favourite mipmaps that put 8-bit retro games to shame. Nvidia fans should cheer up for conservative rasterization some more, maybe that will be the saving grace. It is easy being on the red team, ht4u results depict 8% swing in AMD's favour between contemporary gpus when resolution scales up. Both Pascal and Polaris have improved in this regard, however we still need conservative rasterization or some other form of mega textures.

If vega gets GDDR5X, and since the 380 it replaced had less than half the cores as the fury X and was also about 60-70% the performance, add performance increase for GCN 4.0, I hope the 390x / vega replacement to get the 1080 performance.

By the time this happens, nvidia will be ready to bring out the 1080 TI and hopefully reduce the price of the 1080 by another 100-150$ to compete with AMD, until the HBM2 versions from both comes out.
That way prices will make sense again.
If AMD can't pull that off, the 1080 will still stay high in price unless people stop buying them.

Vega is also rumored to double other specs not just the number of cores.

Whatever great things they can do on DX12 wont matter to most gamers, not until DX12 become mainstream API. I think by the time this happen it will be AMD Navi vs Nvidia Volta era or even any new GPU after that. For now if you have DX11 games, it is best to stick on Nvidia.
not all DX11 games have that limitation,GCN4 improved DX11 performance and All GCN GPUs are totally fine with DX12 and Asynchronous compute.

And DX12 benefit are more important than DX11 gimmick, it allows better performance and smoother experience for CPU bound acenarios like many people using i3 FX 4core Athlons, where DX11 creates bottlenecks and worse performance.

The thread started out with information on Total War:Warhammer running DX12. Like most threads, it has derailed into an AMD vs. Nvidia pissing match. We're now in the overclockability phase of the fight. What is next?

Are we that insecure? We can't just read and process that information? We have to turn everything into a fanboy competition?

Since when?
A new DX version always takes ages to get games out for except those couple ones. especially since it is attached to a windows a lot of people want to avoid for x or y reason. We won't see "most upcoming aaa titles" include dx12 for some time.

Well just look the the latest games that have come out.

RoTR - DX12 Patch
Hitman - DX12
Warhammer - DX12 Patch
Doom - Vulkan

Almost 80% of AAA games are using the new APIs.

BF1 will use DX12.

Basically from now on you can expect AAA games with emphasis in performance/graphics to use them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_DirectX_12_support

13 Games are already supporting DX12

and some games pretty right around the corner...

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Star Citizen
Ark: Survival Evolved
W.N.C: Infantry
Heroes & Generals
King of Wushu
Watch Dogs 2
Forge - Halo 5: Guardians Edition
Gears Of War 4
ReCore
Forza Horizon 3
Halo Wars 2
Battlefield 1

I'd say DX12 is shaping up quite nice really and adoption rate is far better than DX11. Bolded the games that I would consider pretty popular sellers.

Almost every new multi platform AAA title will use new apis because easy porting+ perf boost for low end systems.

Why are people in denial about DX12 being implemented?
