And where would you find a real review these days?

PC tech journalism just isn't what it used to be. Why that is, I don't know... maybe the value of each article has gone down thanks to clickbaity articles? But you wont find thorough settings analysis like you used to on any of the big tech sites.

Hmm, so you are saying it's false what i guessed and previous gcn gpus were performing like they do now from day 1? so 280x was always 2% behind 780 ?and 390x was always 1% ahead 980 ? biggrin.gif

seems like someone else is hoping and praying against something which is happening since last 4 years wink.gif

Possibly these sites are trying to make ends meet due to less ad revenue on the count of adblockers being far more common now so they'll do a little bit of shilling to make something look better than it really is if it means they'll pull in more revenue.

Everyone here is looking at current situation and nobody today is going to build a rig, and load it up with past games. You sit on some pedestal and think everyone who is buying a RX480 is doing so, to play past games.

There are a ton of new games coming out in the next year.

Vulkan and things like it are the future...

Not true at all...

Tons of DX11 titles will continue to be played by many for the next few years and there will still be plenty coming out well after dx12 is released. Look how long DX9 stuck around for that matter in newer titles. I still play games on my main rig from that were made before they year 2000 if that's any indication. Not like any current gpu would have a problem with them. I mean, I play the original unreal tournament at 4k w/ 8x SSAA (effectively 32k) and still maintain a very, very good framerate. So smooth - even makes an old game look good.

Now yes, if you are building a new rig it is wise to keep DX12 in mind and not always just look at what's slightly better at the older API, especially if you plan to keep the year 2-3+ years like many do.

What's even happening here? Oh yea.. Nvidia title.. and not really DX12.. am I right?

Actually there was just an update that places fury x above the newer titan and 980 Ti, Async compute and all.

Next time you try to troll the forum post updated benchmarks! thanks thumb.gif

My own r9 290 runs at 60 fps with those exact settings.

It's patch 1 vs patch 7
