@mllrkllr88

I'll get a 6870 then? Or is there a 5000 series card that would beat it (and I could put on phase as no cold slow issues)? thumb.gif

Or does it have to be a completely different system for every sub?

Stage 1: CPU has to be different
Stage 2: GPU must be different

So for 3DM01 which is stage 2 you just have to change out GPU but you could continue using the g3258

As @mus1mus said, only GPU counts. You can submit as much as you want. You should use a good CPU for 3D2001 (high freq) + WIndows XP (x64 is better) and then just switch cards lol. Remember that some GPUz are not available in XP drivers, then you must put them editing driver notepad itself (like 980/980 Ti, etc, more common from Maxwell).

You can grab a HD5870 if you want. Is better GPU, but dont know about performance with actual drivers. Some say that in DX11 the 6870 is equal to HD5870, but HD5870 will perform better in my experience if vGPU is not disabled biggrin.gif

Ok thanks for clearing that up guys.

Got my SC1 - Stage 5 sub in and a few dogpile subs too (Stage 1: G3258 , Stage 2: HD 7950 & 780 Ti). Tomorrow I will do runs with my HD 4850, GTX 285, GTX 480 & GTX 680 as well.

After doing some research I think the order bench power is like this (not counting X2 stuff): HD6970 > HD6950 > [HD6870, HD6930, HD5870]

The last three are pretty close and it depends on the bench as to which one wins. For newer benches such as vantage it seems HD5870 will beat the other two (HD6870 and HD6930). For older benches such as 3D06, the opposite is true. I don't know enough about unigine heaven to say for sure so Ill just call it a 3 way tie. The race for third seems to be between HD5870 and HD6930, however, HD6870 did beat HD6930 for double precision (only). If I were going to go out and buy one for this comp, I would probably get the cheapest one of the three thumb.gif

I didn't read the competition rules closely enough until after I submitted. I entered this submission for the AM2 CPU frequency competition http://hwbot.org/submission/3270751 However I don't have the competition backround. How do I remove it from the competition?

I think you need to delete and resub. Or maybe ask a mod
