I personally will always rate the playstation controller over the xbox ones.
Never understood the sticks on different places.
Ironically the Dual Shock controller is really designed to maintain the D-pad and face buttons as primary input mechanisms, most PS1 games didn't have support for analog input.
Thus the Dual Shock layout is still the best for fighting games (and arguably the worst for shooters).
The Xbox puts analong control as primary for the left thumb and face buttons on the right, which is most versatile across the most game types.
Really Nintendo is the only one with a totally logical design for the modern shooter centric market, analog sticks on top and buttons below, but practically speaking, after decades of using one layout or another no-one seems to care where you put the inputs anymore.
I just wish we had more analog sticks, you could put them on the front and bottom of the controller too, I'm sure people could learn to manipulate analog sticks with their fingertips reasonably quickly.Edited by ILoveHighDPI - 7/3/16 at 6:20pm
