GFE also contains shadowplay/streaming.

You can access the exact same GPU feature via OBS for recording and/or streaming

I'm happy with my 780 but that's only because I stopped updating the drivers once there was whiffs of Nvidia gimping them and not really optimizing them when the 900 series was released.

For my next GPU I'll probably go AMD. Things like required accounts are off putting. Even with a fake email or a throwaway account its still an extra step that I don't want to take as a user to simply use my GPU software.

When razer started pushing their cloud software I left them. When microsoft started pushing windows 10 I just re-imaged my drive with a windows 7 image from before the updates started happening and I haven't updated since. So when Nvidia starts pushing this to the main stream it'll be time to distance from them too.

I don't think they gimped anything, I used to have a 780 a few years back, and had a 980 ti for a while, recently sold it for a big profit over current "market value" and picked up a 780 Lightning, all my benchmark scores are still very similar to back when I had a 780 when they were "new" . Some scores are even a bit higher, but that could just be due to the fact that I have a new CPU.

Loving the new GFE. Recording features are neat. Other than that there is not much change.

I just wished they sticked to the Green colors in UI as gray and black is boring as hell.

laugher.gif It is always recording. How do you think it saves 20 minutes?

1: Convenience doesn't = noob.
2: That not what he meant. The point was that you never really know when something funny is going to happen, so instead of wasting time on recording something manually, you can just save the last X minutes when something funny just happened. Totally different stuff.

So much hate for such a great program

Benefits of Geforce Experience

1-) You can optimize all your games. I am NOT A NOOB and I have been gaming for 20 years and I use this feature. Currently I am gaming at a 144hz 1080p monitor. And the games are optimized very well for my setup with the 980ti. If I get 90fps on average with the optimization I put the optimization bar to one click left and it optimizes for higher framerate. It is a beautiful feature

2-) I can record my games in nice quality upto 4K 60fps. Especially considering it is not a dedicated capture device. I can also record past footage in case something amazing happens.

3-) I can stream to youtube or twitch upto 1080p... Too bad my internet upload is good for upto 720p 30fps.

4-) I can directly upload images to imgur.

5-) I can directly upload a clip to youtube.

I really have no idea how a person can hate this software as it is free and not mandotary.

Edit: When I get a gaming laptop for office and travel in 2017, I will use game optimization even more.

Paywall is next.

Definitely not.

They are already earning tons of money by selling the GPUs... I can never see GFE being a paid service.

At least the core services. Maybe they add amazing twitch integration that puts every streaming software to shame and MAYBE they do that for advanced users. That is still a 1% chance.

The point of a business is to try and earn more money though. They're not gonna get it out of thin air. They own just about all of what they're going to own of the GPU market which is the vast majority and they are not doing well in non desktop gpu ventures. It's going to come out of you guys for a while in ever increasing ways. They got you paying $100 more for a basic reference card with a new name, selling an overpriced fancy but useless SLI bridge, controlling who can access features(shaodwplay) and download drivers regularly(quarterly driver for everyone, game ready for GFE users). Next step is a subscription of some sort.
