This is the comparison between headphones on and off.

Well I guess there is not much difference.

ye, not much difference, and you must have something enabled which messes with your audio now.
It's supposed to be a straight line from one end to the other basically, but oh well... redface.gif

What settings do I need to change ? or is it just the problem of the sound card ?
So should I definitely get the SBZx ?

I don't know what you might have changed, but when you posted the graph the other time, without the headphones connected, the frequency response was alright:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1604894/is-the-creative-sound-blaster-zx-worth-to-buy/10#post_25357340

and when tested again it looks like this:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1604894/is-the-creative-sound-blaster-zx-worth-to-buy/40#post_25403945

so i don't even tongue.gif

...and can't definitely recommend the Zx over the onboard

Well hahaha Im stuck as well.
Firstly you said it was my cable problem so the first test cannot be called a real test since the setup was totally wrong.
The second comparison though I bought another cable and set it up the same way as I did the first time.
And this was the result so I also have no idea on this.
Maybe I will dig deeper and research the quality of the on board sound card or if others are getting these kind of result like me as well.

Edit:

I have found some threads that says the speakers can't go below 60hz but I am still not sure if this
have anything to do with my problem.
If yes then it might be my configuration of speakers or my settings itself.
From what I get from the graph is that my frequencies are very distorted it goes up to +1 and down to almost -20
which is pretty bad.

Edit:

I found out why was it giving me that graph.
All I needed was to zoom out.

yea, but that's still not acceptable to get -11dB at 50hz(and below even lower).
All i can think of is that "full-range speakers" are not checked in the windows playback device:

That looks alright, then could it be that you have connected a subwoofer and set the crossover frequency somewhere?

the crossover frequency cuts the frequency below a certain value for the speakers, and lets the subwoofer take care of them - but since you don't have a speaker system...

It's just strange that now you don't seem to get the low frequencies to be played anymore.
Again, the first graph you posted(which was a legit measurement for the onboard-sound alone at least) showed only -0.2dB at 30hz, and now it's -21dB at 30hz. biggrin.gif

I know this must get kinda annoying by now, but what can you do... tongue.gif
