[TPU] NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Doesn't Support SLI? Reference PCB Difficult to Mod

Here are some more technical pictures of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 reference-design board, which reveals quite a few features about the card. The biggest revelation is that the card completely lacks SLI bridge fingers. We wonder if NVIDIA has innovated a bridge-less SLI for this card, although we find it unlikely given the amount of efforts the company put into marketing the SLI HB bridge, and the reason SLI needs a bridge in the first place. Meanwhile, the Radeon RX 480 supports 4-way CrossFireX.

I guess this is the one thing the RX 480 has over the GTX 1060 now (multi-card scaling) as well as true asynchronous computing versus Pascal's workaround.

Ugly, sick of reference cards having huge blow style fans that take up more room.

Another fun and exciting card from nvidia...

It's almost like their shooting themselves in the foot to try and get people to buy amd cards.

It's almost as if providing the consumer with choice is a bad thing.

Or maybe it do it through pcie?

If this is true, the logic here is that two of these would be faster and cheaper than the 1080 and would eat into those high margin sales. Just think of it like the non-k intel i3.

$249 MSRP + pascal yields = $299 and up, 3GB, no SLi, won't surpass RX480 in new and upcming games(DX12/VULKAN). Sounds like a steal.

the sli might be through PCI. we don't know yet

I don't see why they wouldn't. There aren't any aftermarket blower cards and to the system as a whole it's thermally advantageous because the blower design only exhausts the GPU's hot air out of the back and not everywhere within the system. This especially becomes a problem for small form factor systems.

As for people pointing out SLI over PCIe read the article. Seems really counterintuitive to release SLI HB bridges then all of a sudden swap to SLI over PCIe in a lower end card.
