Any upgrade advice/ideas?

Hello everyone,my last pc upgrade was 4 years ago (except GPU + PSU which I bought 6 months ago). So now I'm interested if there would be any sense if I upgrade to something new,for e.g:
Z170 board
6600 or 6700k
ddr4 RAM

My PC is in my signature,I don't do editing or rendering, just gaming and full hd movie watching. I have 60Hz monitor and getting 60-100fps in games with no problem (sometimes just tweaking anti-aliasing settings for smooth fps)

I suspect there is no need in upgrading now, since I have 60Hz monitor, but I just have these inexplicable feeling to upgrade once in several years, but if there would be NO noticeable sense, than I'll just wait for some new techs to show up....

Thanks everyone in advance smile.gif

P.S Maybe first upgrading to 4K monitor and afterwards upgrading other tech ? (including GPU)....

Samsung SM951 M.2-2280 256GB SSD (AHCI) drive ($170)
http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/products/flash-storage/client-ssd/MZHPV256HDGL?ia=831
About 4 times the read speed and over twice the write speed of your current Crucial MX100

Would need an adapter like this ($22) for mounting in your motherboard's PCI-E 3.0 slot.

Keep your OS and programs on the new SM951 and maybe make the Crucial your music storage drive.

PC boots like in 10 seconds and I don't use any software except Firefox to browse and MPC for movie watching,so I think ssd isn't worth upgrading,I wanted some kinda of big boost from what I have now, maybe next year I'll upgrade to 4k monitor, then 1080 and afterwards next gen stuff (cpu, motherboard, gpu, ram)

Or am I wrong ? : ))))

As you suspected, you've already answered your own question. No need to upgrade. And, as you anticipate in your post script, there could potentially be a reason to upgrade if you change you display setup. Once you decide when you want to upgrade, decide on your ideal monitor setup first, then make other upgrade decisions after purchasing displays.

I would also note that even with a more demanding monitor setup, you won't need to upgrade your processor. There aren't any games that are going to see a noticeable improvement from your ivy bridge, especially if it's overclocked. Yes, Ivy Bridge is getting a tad aged, but there just haven't been any major advancements in either processor capability or gaming demands beyond that level of performance. Once you settle on new monitors (if you even decide you want to), then you might look at GPU changes or Crossfire, but that's about it.
