Bought a GTX 1070 FE. Should I worry about the OC temp?

As the title says, I bought a reference 1070 and OC'ed it.+220 core clock and +600 mem clock and temps idle at around 45 Celsius. Temp reaches ar around 80 under load with custom fan curve. Should I be worried about those temps? I am thinking about returning it and get a 3rd party cooler. But I am not even sure if it's worth the time and if I can even achieve higher OC with my rig. What do you think?

My rig:

CPU: i5-6500
CPU Cooler: H55 AIO
Mobo: GA-H170N
GPU: GTX 1070 Founder Edition
RAM: 16GB DDR4 2133 PNY Anarchy
SSD: Sandisk Plus 240GB
HHD: WD 1TB
Case: NZXT Manta
PSU: CX550M 80+ Bronze

And here is the 1070 performance & temps compared to the 970 that I am currently running.

As I remember GTX10 series begin to throttle around 82C, so you are close to the limit.

Those temperatures are normal for a reference card. If you start exceeding 86C then I'd be worried but you could return it and get one with a third party cooler which will run a lot cooler.

It never exceed 82 celsius. And in hot days I use AC anyway so it's the room temp will not be too high. I love the look of the reference tho frown.gif I might go EK water cool when I have the time. Working with a reservoir in a miniITX will be a challenge though.

Since it doesn't exceed 82 celsius I wouldn't worry since those temps are normal.

It can go up to 85 even without a temp override. I've seen this happen.

It does seem high, I have the MSI founders card and temps max out at 70-71 when benchmarking or gaming. Clock +190 Mem +200. I am new to PC's and overclocking and wonder why everywhere I read people are getting +500 - +700 on the memory overclock???? I seem to still get a decent graphics score on fire strike (just under 20,000) https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/WrathofBill/builds/.

Any ideas on why the low memory oc?
