Titan @ 2500mhz for $200 that unlocks to super titan and unlockable ram, all with DX13/DX14 performance.

I'll be waiting for a while tongue.gif

AMDs new naming scheme doesn't leave room for something between those 2 (RX480 and RX490) frown.gif

Those prestige products are also for .. well prestige !

People hearing about Nvidia having the Titan Pascal best GPU associate Nvidia with succees and good GPUs. They are more likely to buy Nvidia products in their budget range then.thumb.gif

Haha biggrin.gif.

Same on the AIB 480 front, I want to replace my 7950 since it shows it's age right now.
Planning on getting an AIB 480 for 1080p and when Vega hits (and has decent 4k performance for an alright price) upgrade to Vega and 4k.

I can't decide if I should wait for Sapphire VaporX 480 or if I should just go with the first AIB 480 from Sapphire (the Nitro I guess) right now.

Edit:

Well, may be the 490 is small Vega and they'll have a Fury style card for big Vega?

Or small Vega=490 and big Vega=490X?

I'm in the same boat with a 7970, Same rez too.

I'm hoping a bunch of AIB cards come out at the same time so we have some choice, Not sure if I'd fork out extra for the Vapor-X (if there is one)

Wasn't it mentioned that they'd be using the "5" suffix as well? So, 480, 485, 490, etc. But I believe that would be the second iteration of the chips. So not to be expected any time soon.

Oh I missed that. It's a possibility.

But we also have the leak on AMDs official website that the RX490 is coming.

a 4.5 - 4.7ghz 6950x is slower than a 6600k for a bunch of games that are already CPU bottlenecked on a gtx980 or slower cards - many of the games in the MMO + RTS genre's plus some others.

For actual GPU performance, a 600mm2 GPU w/ HBM2 has potential to be roughly 2x 1080 if it's at similar clock speeds so 1.5x should be ez.

tbh they do kind of have to release the Titan P/1080Ti at some point even if Vega isnt around or isnt a direct competitor

just to get 980Ti/Titan X owners to upgrade .. lots of them passed on the 1080 and rightfully so

plus the high-end community has been waiting for a long time for that "4K @ 60+ fps @ single GPU" sweet combo, so just for that alone they will clear Titan P or 1080Ti off the shelves and price wont even matter if it can do 4K@60
