but we'll see

Probably because the current consoles don't have an HDMI port that can sustain 4K@60. If I recall there was an issue with DVI where 4K was limited to 30Hz on PC too.. Not sure exactly, still rocking the 1080p so didn't feel it personally but I read about it a while back.

good to know you know what it is. I wasn't sure you knew biggrin.gif

Companies love buzz words. Most people don't know the difference between hz and fps and so it is easy to use those words to not say anything "legally" wrong, but also make people believe your product is better than it actually is.

For example when your local tech store says "OUR NEW 3RD GENERATION INTEL PC WITH 250 GB MEMORY". Then it sounds good to uninformed people, but we know it's probably a very small i3 for 50$ and a 250GB 5400rmp HDD" thumb.gif

The only other scenario that makes sense is if nVidia is only releasing a Titan this year with the Ti variant at least 6 months away, and the Titan costs at least $1200+ to avoid cannibalizing 1080 sales.

I'd imagine that you will see 4k 60FPS titles on Scorpio. Probably about the same ratio of 30 to 60 fps titles that you see on the xbone / ps4 now.

It's going to produce some excellent looking games. But just like 60 fps games on current consoles they'll be some sacrifices made in all the usual categories (textures, LOD etc).

Just considering the first party talent difference however I'd imagine the best looking titles end up on the Neo. Not counting PC and general third party games of course.

Considering not all games run at 1080p 60 FPS on the XBOne, i'll have to classify 4x the amount of pixels rendered on a revision as wishful thinking.

interesting point. It could be a "longevity" Titan thinking.gif

Would definitively bode well with the Titan buyers that love a little reasuring clap on the back for lots of money well spent biggrin.gif

When yields get better bring out the GTX 1080 Ti. Nvidia may not need a GTX 1080 Ti for the next 9 months to 1-up AMD. The GTX 1080 may be enough and the Titan is the ultra deluxe enthusiast card for quite a while. Definitively food for thought there magnek !

Well of course not all titles run at 1080p 60. That's my point.

On consoles it's a developer choice with a give and take between detail level and resolution/framerate.

The reason why it's pretty obviously going to happen is because Microsoft is going to want it to happen to be able to say their system runs 4k/60 games.

Anyway thread is about the new Titan.

Glad I stood by my decision to wait for 1080 Ti. The actual release obviously may stretch to end of 2016, but this is my logic - if I'm going to spend an absurd amount of money on a graphics card, I better be getting the full power of the architecture (or very close to it) thumb.gif

Really? I mean I live in NZ, and even the main store here has 1080 FE's and aftermarket versions coming and going in/out of stock.
