Also, the 1080 is barely out, and Nvidia knows that Vega will not come until at least October (and even that are only rumors), more likely is a Q1 release for Vega, same goes for the Titan.

You are the one that is delusion, when the market are willing to pay for 1080, and how fast they were being sold out, pushing the titan out at a extreme premium as early as possible is one way to earn even more.

Time and time again the world has shown that we are willing to pay extreme prices. And the best way to milk the market is to cut down the die in many config:

3840 / 3584 / 3200 / 3072 cores configuration

So many different GPU to feed the masses. That is how they can milk for the next 12-24 months. The above configuration should come true for the following 1100 series next year.

As an avid nVidia (and Intel) fan, I'm absolutely HOPING with every fiber of my being that AMD can keep up with these performance leaps.

I don't know if there is some kind of legal/law thing that keeps companies from monopolizing stuff and inflating the heck out of prices...but Intel are pretty much already doing it and nVidia are starting to do it too.

They can't chug out new products too fast, or they will saturate and stagnate their own market. If you were in nVidia's shoes the last thing you would want people to think is "oh just wait a few months and get a better product". You want to hit that sweet-spot where the next product is just slightly too far away to make the consumer buy the current product, with the next product being just enticing enough to make the consumer consider upgrading. It's a science that Apple has mastered with their phones tongue.gif

For example, I'm looking to upgrade my card and this announcement has completely killed any chance of me buying a 1080.

This. Also I'm saying this as I can guarantee you 100% they aren't ready for production yet when they've just made the jump to 16nm, it's not a problem of "want to release new product", it's a problem of "not being able to release new product".

Also the 1080 sold out so quick because there was barely any stock available, if that was artificial from Nvidia or because they have problems with yields is another topic.

I will remind you when the Titan P releases on that again rolleyessmileyanim.gif

Remember the days when people could buy full blow high end PC with that money even with monitor included an play games at max setting?

Now you get only one component with that money to achieve the same and it's considered the norm... truly sad times now and even more so ahead. frown.gif

i have a question for you guttheslayer, i just received my windforce 1070 gtx , its still brand new, i didnt open it yet at all. SHOULD I SELL IT and wait for a Titan at 1099$ in the end of august or september ? OR is it too risky to HOPE for a titan at 1099$ max for september. I cant wait until november with my intel gpu LOL Thanks for your opinion. i know i have to take a chance , one way or another ( sorry for my bad english)

its basically a 1080 Ti in disguise that is slapped with a Titan price.

i wont care about a Kingpin edition, i will buy a cheaper custom edition. i can overclock myself. i just want 2 or 3 cooler fans, i didnt like the ONE fan of the founders edition. i just bought 2 weeks ago, the 1070 gtx gigabyte windforce with 2 fans, while im waiting for the titan ... cant game anymore with a intel integrated graphic gpu.

i suppose nvidia should know that some enthousiast like me wont pay more than 999$-1099$ for the titan. they have to build 2 different titan card if they want to make a 1400$+ edition, otherwise they wont sell a lot of them, and like a lot of people i will wait for the 1080 ti

AIB Titan? That'd be interesting.

i know what you means by that, my first video card was a 3dfx voodoo 1 4mb wink.gif

i know they sell their cards for a very expensive price, but the technology advance faster than before at that time. they try to sell us the best product available the sooner possible, i think that can explain the price are very expensive vs older time...

Why do make me sound like I work for Nvidia. I dont lol.

I suggest u keep ur 1070 and just be happy, there is no real confirmation when the Titan stock be available and HOW EXPENSIVE it will be. Paper launch is one thing, actual product availability is another.

You have a 1070. If you'd be in the target audience for the Titan you'd have 1080. So keep your 1070 and be happy with it.

I am just assuming there could be a AiB titan becz this card is actually a 1080 Ti in disguise.

In the past, Titan were never allow to sell with custom cooling / PCB was the reason it actually affect the sales of their Professional market.

Imagine a full DP capable titan that could be overclock through the roof with KP edition. How the hell are they able to justify selling their Tesla at $5000?

The same reason Titan X were not allowed for AiB for the same reason becz Quadro M6000 share exactly the same features.
