Should be a beast. With the rise of esports/competitive gaming 120/144hz 1080p+ 200+fps single card setups will be standard.

the 6950X bottleneck is either bs or its only a stock 6950X with its low clocks

I cant see an OCed fast Intel CPU bottlenecking it, especially at 4K/5K

Quote:
Sooooo....not even intel's fastest can keep up with 1 card?

So forget about SLi entirely?

Kaby lake and the fastest ddr4 you can wrangle up to get the most out of this?

Someone here said Nvidia was acting desperate....well maybe cuz they just hit a will they have no control over, and that wall is called intel

6950x bottleneck pascal......volta is already dead in the water.....
its dead because its too fast .. ? Oo

and by Volta time there should already be 10nm Cannonlake thumb.gif

I wonder how many peope with more money than sense will buy a Pascal Titan for 1920x1080, lol. I don't think there's a CPU on this planet that could maintain full usage from one of these at 1080p. I am not quite ready to ditch 1080p just yet, but I am glad GPU power is steadily increasing. Then again, so is the price...

Looks like it'll get 60fps in 4K so it's on my radar.
this sounds like the card(s) that will be a must for that new 4K@120Hz monitor that Asus showed at Computex

they might even come out at a similar time

although 2 of these + that monitor might end up close to $4500-5000 redface.gif

Price will probably be in the $1200 region this time I think

If our sources are correct, GP100 and GP102 were essentially the same chips, with the difference being NVLink interface on the GP100 and PCI Express for the GP100. Feature set on both chips is the same, and there are no surprises. ''

So if its the same chip we only get around 2900 single core unit and 900 DP. So i will buy the titan for gaming, so 900 DP is a waste. Why not use all 3800 single core unit for the titan P like the Titan X, people that only gaming dont need these double precision unit core.

Am i wrong ? sorry for my bad english, i try my best smile.gif

and finally all rumors for gp102 with gddr5x are false ?

man im dead with my i5 4690, i need at least a i7 4790k ? isnt ?

i just bought a gtx windforce 1070 for waiting for the next titan. i will receive it next week. Maybe i should not use it and sell it brand new, the 1070-1080 (non-founders card) is backorder everywhere in canada, at least in montreal. Should i wait for the titan P and sell my gefore 1070 brand new ?

Thanks for answers and help. Im really interested to buy the next Titan P. i want to be able to play game in 4k at high setting or ultra with 60fps for atleast a few years. i can live with 35-40fps, but its not optimal at all.

No, gp102 means its a geforce core without the dp to improve yield loss and also to give extra performance per watt.

And becz it doesnt have a dp, it doesnt undercut the gp100 tesla or quadro sales, but the problem is all the useless gp100 will be a huge waste, hence gp102 will require a premium above $1000 to compensate.

This is the only reason they could release it, within 3 months of may. I wonder what they desperate for?

if this costs 1200+ EUR in my locale then I wont even feel bad about the 50% faster since I "only" payed 697 EUR for the G1 1080 redface.gif

but I wonder if it means 1080Ti will come sooner than we think ?

if you already have a Titan P ready then it pretty much means you already have a 1080Ti too

If its true and there are bottlenecks with even 1 card....

Then what's needed is a major cpu upgrade, but there are no cpu's beyond intel latest arc....

So sure.....volta is dead because its too fast or because intel is too slow....

And at that rate I doubt cannonlake or overclocking will be the savior of anything given intel's love of INCREMENTAL performance increases

The big die GPUs are almost always 40% to over 50% faster, no surprises here.

It will be good to see GPUs which are potentially capable of pulling off 4K 60fps with fairly high graphical settings enabled in the more demanding titles.
