Issues after OC with BCLK and CPU Strap at 125Mhz

Hello all smile.gif
After much frustration, I finally got my my PC to boot with DDR4 RAM running at 3Ghz. In order to do this, I had to set my BCLK to 125Mhz. From what I have read, the BCLK on X99 boards affect several components such as harddrives. Because of this, I also set CPU Strap to 125Mhz in order to leave all the other components at their stock clock of 100Mhz.

I am experiencing some strange issues however. After the OC, when entering the bios, I am greeted with a black screen and cannot do anything. When I first booted into Windows, nVidia drivers seem to have not loaded properly as I could not start the nVidia Control Panel, GeForce Experience or anything else related to it. After a restart, everything seems to be working fine. CPU-Z reports RAM running at 1500Mhz (Double Data Rate) and CPU (i7 5820K) running at 3250Mhz (125*26) which is close to stock speed.

Should I be worried about the bios and my nVidia drivers crashing the first time after OC or is this normal? What may have caused it?

The BCLK controls the PCI-E clock if I remember correctly. Its possible your GPU can't handle the 125mhz PCI-E clock. Just the same as when I changed my BCLK to 110mhz, my card would just shut off while using chrome.

But doesn't the the CPU Strap at 125Mhz negate the 125Mhz setting on the BCLK for the PCI-E bus? So that it runs at 100Mhz instead?
