Close-ish, probably need more like 1400-1425mhz according to these OC numbers. Which is possible on an awesome cooler.

And good power delivery.

1400-1425+ 480 should be at least stock Fury (non X) level

thats assuming that ref 480 which is a bit above 390, doesnt operate at 1266, but rather at 1200 or below due to throttling

so from ~390 level at sub-1200Mhz you go to 1400+ and stock Fury .. that makes sense to me

I haven't seen any reports of the RX 480 throttling?

It looks like the first wave of AIB cards will be sitting around 1350Mhz, I would expect you can push them to at least 1400Mhz given the 8-pin and better cooler. If we start seeing some more enthusiast grade cards like the MSI Lightning or Sapphire Toxic, I'd estimate mid to high 1400s. Maybe under water they can be pushed higher.

There have been reports of the RX 480 throttling because of the PCIe power draw issue. Can't find it right now though.

ref throttles both because of the power draw and because of that criminally small heatsink

In the benches I have seen it runs pretty warm and is drawing more than it should from the PCI slot, but I didn't see it back off the 1266Mhz clock. I think the AIB cards are going to be a much better purchase. Either get a 4GB reference card for $199 and run it at stock, or go with an AIB 8GB for OC potential.

that german site detailed the clocks and showed that their ref 480 throttled and was generally sub-1266 or even sub-1200

Im not sure about TPU, guru3D, tweaktown etc.
