Hello.
I have a Lenovo Laptop Lenovo Y50-70 from some time years back running windows 8.1
It did not came with Windows 8.1 CD and the store El Corte ingles said i had to contact Lenovo for suport.

I contacted Lenovo and they gave me this link
https://www.lenovorecovery.com

The website is down so i contacted lenovo again
This is the answer i got, They talk about Downgrade media recovery program
I only want a Recovery CD so i can format Laptop and install windows fresh, since Laptop didnt came with one
Lenovo refused to give suport, problem is my laptop is not on warranty any longer.

How can i get Lenovo to send me a CD, it should have come with a CD.

Hello Lenovo customer

Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 7 Pro: Lenovo Downgrade Media Recovery program allows customers to order their Windows 8.1 Pro Recovery media.

We have reviewed your system: Lenovo Y50-70 with Windows 8.1, manufactured on June 12, 2014

They misunderstood what you want. They think you want to install Windows 7. They think you are asking for a Windows 7 CD. Perhaps ask again and write it in a different way than what you did the first time.

If you don't really need a CD/DVD, I think you can download Windows 8.1 from Microsoft somewhere. You then put it onto a USB flash drive yourself, or burn a DVD yourself if your optical drive can do that.

If you have another computer, you can create a disc or USB flash drive with Windows 8.1 using Microsofts tool: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8.

I used a USB pendrive and it asked me backup windows partition (need atleast 16GB) it backed up 9GB of windows 8.1 so i guess i can use a USB pendrive then.

Another question if i buy a original CD of Windows 8.1 64 bits will it work on my Lenovo laptop?
do i need to backup some drivers or something?

I understand that i dont need to update or download anything unless i buy Windows 10 (since my laptop is made for windows 8.1)
is it recomended i stay on windows 8.1 on this Lenovo Y50-70 laptop?

I get a OEM windows 8.1 in online store original for under 100 euro so i could get a windows CD

The reason pre-builds don't come with installation cd's is because the tools to do it are already on the PC. You're going to want to press F8 repeatedly at boot to get into the options menu for a factory restore. Make sure to backup before doing this since it should delete your hdd and reinstall everything like the computer were new..

That doesn't work on most systems. Hold shift and click the restart button on the charms bar or start menu
