Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

around 2:40 you can see the card powers off the system in ROTR

lol how can you not know this, you're 3/4 of every 480 thread there is

So they went out of their way to find some crappy mobos - i guess those relics exist and for a couple more days this might be an issue for those turds of boards. Thing is the 970 was nerfed on any mobo you used it on high end to low end. A simple software fix will correct the 480 issue unlike the 970 issue that was in hardware.

how did this card ever make it through to retail ?

lol now I see what you did, cherry picked a youtube video where some guy uses an totally obsolete motherboard and it crashes, to claim that everyone will have either gimped memory speed or stability issues.

Congrats on an obviously biased comment. That guy couldn't even get through firestrike lol, nobody on OCN, review sites or anywhere I've seen has a problem like that.

Nice try.

lol at the "went out of their way to find a relic mobo", these mobos are still selling and are quite popular in budget system.
AMD fanboys always in denial....

cherry picked rolleyes.gif

every other review testes it on 6700K with a premium mobo. Is that what budget gamers run now?

Oh well the boards shut down, so no house fires or damage. The fix will make even crappy boards like those run fine. There is no problem so it's you that are in denial.

Plus it's pretty obvious when someone running one of the latest Nvidia GPUs and trolling the AMD threads is trying to achieve when they could be off gaming.

well I guess my house won't burn down when I plug in RX480, so thank you AMD ....

check out the rx480 review thread, and click the reviews one by one to see their test setups. they all run X99,X79 or Z170.

So where are these budget PCs that still use AM2 and socket 775 budget boards anyway?

Yeah i'm a real fanboy with dual TX and a history of buying NV lately lol ... check my sig .

So their crashing will be resolved by Tomorrow i think it is - yes they said driver update on Thursday ? I wonder if they will do a re- review to show this ? somehow i doubt it.

Top vid says LGA 775

Bottom vid said AM2.

One of them also says if your motherboard is less than 9 years old go buy one.

This is ridiculous the crap you are trying to prove here lol

Those "crappy motherboards" are still in peoples computers. People are still running 5-6 years old sysmtes if not more, and just replace the graphics card every once in awhile instead of the CPU to refrain from buying a whole system.

And yes a simple software fix, which reduce power and reduce performance. So instead of gaining like people claimed 10-15% performance extra on the reference card over time, you get, amazingly 3% after optimisation, because of the initial performance loss from the lower power.
This was also in some way the sale point of people who claimed that the 480 will only get better in time. well, it did, by 3%.
