I have had the EK fittings leak but the bitspower have been flawless.

About that was an EK as well haha. The tubing pushed the fiting a bit and it leaked onto the cpu block, i caught it so no issues.

AS awesome as it was over these past few years, its just too expensive and risky. I'll be going back to air as soon as possible.

Played with the board some more yesterday out of boredom, and she is toast now. Doesn't even power on, and if she does, its for 1 sec and turns off. Jumped PSU without anything connected and it runs fine, so board is dead shorting or saving itself.

I also haven't been able to test my CPU, but its w/e...

Water cooling isnt an issue, ive taken mine apart a few times in a couple months, to test, to clean the CPU block, to change my tubing. Every water i spill i use a paper towel to soak up. I let it dry a couple hrs while leak testing then a couple hours of it just off so water evaporates to have no issues. Its even leaked into the ram slot and besides giving me RAM issues on one ram stick it hasnt destroyed my mobo. Then again a gpu has quite a bit more power going thru the pcie slot.

Were you using distilled water or was it some type of coolant?

Distilled with ptnuke. Ive been contemplating getting rid of water cooling for awhile now. Air is much more convenient.

Which air cooler are you thinking of getting? I can only recommend the Noctua D14/D15 and the Silverstone HE01 because they have solid mounts and their fans are adjustable up and down. This allows the center fan to be mounted closer to the motherboard where it blows are back onto the VRMs.

The Phanteks 14PE also has adjustable fans but it has a poor mounting system and just does not cool quite as well as the others.

The Thermalright Silver Arrow SBE/IBE Extreme is a very good CPU cooler but it's fans are not adjustable. This means the VRMs overheated on me when stress testing at 5 ghz and is the only reason I can not fully endorse it.

I have not tested this but I suspect that the D15 with the Thermalright TY-143 fans might be the best air cooler out there today.

So my family won't eat this week, but I had to get a new mobo.

J/K, I was able to scrounge up a few bucks and picked up a gigabyte 990FX UD3 on the low. Should be in this week. I disassembled my entire machine, and fixed part of my loop that was questionable. Had a really tight bend in one of my tubes, and it was buckled / pinching. Fixed that, ran the loop for about 6 hours total to get bubbles out and such. Plus clean all the dust out of everything so its nice a shiny like new.

So maybe by Fri. I can enjoy my machine again. Hopefully CPU isn't toast, trying to get that tested today. PLEASE DONT BE DEAD TOO!

I have zero idea what air cooler i want. Been w/c both my machines for like 6 years. JUST switched to air on my htpc 2 months ago re-using a cooler i already had. For my main here, I want something new and good. Noctua would be my first choice, but that tan colored fan ain't gonna cut it.

Which revision of UD3 did you get? Rev 4 and up are ok while below that is bad.
