Same here, who would think that now owning any other motherboard would be far safer. SHAME Gigabyte for allowing this to happen.

I can now see every possible customer steering clear of all Gigabyte motherboards from now on. Although Asus, Asrock and MSI shall really benefit from Gigabyte's current woe arrowheadsmiley.png .

Well it's not on the list (going by the quote anyway), but the potential for my Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H being vulnerable kinda makes me shake a little.

There are other companies with the same bug not just Gigabyte. If my next mobo isn't a Gigabyte it wont be because of this.

The reason Oleksiuk believes other vendors are also vulnerable is that the buggy code is inherited from Intel. He writes that the SystemSmmRuntimeRt was copied from Intel reference code

This is not a reason to avoid buying a Gigabyte board. The reason not to buy those is the revision downgrade crap they pull after release smile.gif

I've had a GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 (rev. 1.3) for 3 years now with the current UEFI bios on it. I wonder if there is grounds for a class action lawsuit for such a huge security flaw that affects thousands to possibly 100's of thousands of boards.

Yeah just sue Intel biggrin.gif Good luck.
