I didn't say anything about suing Intel. Think about it Lenovo has most likely sold thousands to hundreds of thousands of desktops with the affected motherboards most likely in bulk to corporations and if they start running into the problems that this vulnerability presents costing the company money and data loss. Opens them up to a possible lawsuit against Lenovo, which in turn could be turned against Gigabyte this does not include the thousands of affected retail boards sold on their own which concerned owners such as myself.
Will be sending Gigabyte an email voicing my concerns and what they are going to do about such a huge security risk and the possibility of a replacement board that isn't affected.

I got a Z97X-Gaming GT and my email is already sent. I was more curious as to how far back they were going to fix it or I guess who gonna get left out in the cold.

Very good, the more concerned customers that contact them about this issue the better. Which contact did you use? I went straight for the Technical Support contact as they will have the best understanding of the issue, http://www.gigabyte.us/support-downloads/technical-support.aspx

After researching and reading all the sources it seems this affects UEFI type BIOS. Luckily for the Z68 - UD3H owners it was never produced as a UEFI only BIOS board with a beta UEFI version produced later for it. So in lieu of waiting for an official word or fix from Gigabyte, I have downgraded my BIOS from the UEFI to the standard Award BIOS the board was made for. Will use F12 until a proper fixed UEFI BIOS is released.

Downgraded to:

How to do this:

Download f12 bios from gigabyte website

Download EFI2AWD.EXE ( From HERE)

Make DOS bootable usb drive (I used rufus)

Put both EFI2AWD.EXE and bios file on boot USB

After booting from usb run EFI2AWD bios file name example "efi2awd Z68XUD3H.F12"

It will restore the bios back to Award once it's finished

You will most likely have to reactivate windows once you downgrade the BIOS.

You are so right, actually your comment made me check their website and I noticed they just added new revisions again. I wonder what they removed this time without informing people rolleyes.gif

Heads up, received a response to my support email that a new BIOS has been released for my board with the SMM runtime service removed http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3973#bios

So those with affected boards, check the Gigabyte website for BIOS updates.
