A case not really seen here: In Win 805 ∞ Infinity

Thread Starter
I've read reviews of a few sources; however, I haven't found too many builds going air with this particular case.

Probably for good reason; however, I would love to hear some air experts' recommendations.

I'll be doing a case swap replacing my Enthoo Evolv mATX to the in Win 805.

Current specs: 5820K @ 3.9 Turbo, Corsair H110i GT, EVGA Micro2 X99, planning to upgrade to the EVGA 1080 FTW.

My current plan if I do jump the gun for the 805 is:
  1. Intake: I'll have a Corsair GT 110i 280mm vertically mounted with 140 mm x 2 Phanteks PH-F140HPs pushing (these fans oddly only have 120mm mounting holes, will that be an issue in itself?)
    2 x 140mm Phanteks PH-F140HP
    —RPM: 600 - 1300 ± 250 rpm
    —Airflow: 40.9 - 88.6 CFM
    —Static Pressure: .39-1.64mm H2O
  2. Exhaust: Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentPro PL-2 120mm
    — RPM: 1400 (+/- 10%)
    — AirFlow: 56.5 CFM
    — Static Pressure: 1,269 mm H2O
  3. Bottom: I have 2 WD Blacks that I use so I will be using the HDD cage unfortunately...or else I would definitely add two 120mm fans here.

A little hesitant with not only lack of PSU exhaust, but also the lack of hot air circulating inside due to the glass and general lack of exhausts.

Am I crazy to consider this case? I am a bit of a nut for temps and/or noise, but I can't help that I'm enamored by the aesthetic. redface.gif

P.S. I've been following the 805 Owners' thread and have asked for assistance there as well so fingers crossed, thank you all!

Have to admit it looks very nice, but why change? Evolv ATX is a great looking case too! sounds like it might be a case of having money and feeling you have to spend it rather than save for when you really need it.

i would go with 2.5" laptop hdd's, samsung have up to 4tb, it will cost a bit more but means you can mount them to the 2.5 mount behind the mobo and leaves the bottom intake free and will drastically improve airflow.

Nah mang, that Enthoo Evolv mATX is way better looking. The Infinity is too much tongue.gif

Do you need to upgrade from a mATX case to Full tower for the 1080? If the 1080 fits in the Evolv, that'll be a sleeker looking system, and nice and compact! tongue.gif

I have to rep you on that one--my hardware itch is getting to me.

Main reason I forgot to mention was giving me more expandability and space for the 1080.

Ah yeah, I think my gripe with my current case is that the mATX version that I have has a very narrow/limited acrylic window that is very prone to scratches.

It has a scratch and I never even touched the panel which unfortunate.

Creative idea! Thanks for the reply and that certainly is a possibility for sure. thumb.gif

Haha man, I agree. The mATX I have is quite compact which is something I love and was what drew me to the case.

The temperatures are fine; however, the space and cable management is something I want to improve upon and having a bigger case can showcase a nice set of cables better redface.gif
