Nvidia cards age like milk....

The fact that the 290X, a card meant to compete with the GTX 780, is starting to match/ beat a GTX 980 shows how poor Nvidias long term driver support is. That's the number 1 reason i'm very hesitant to switch. In afew months the RX 480 will mow the lawn with the GTX 1060. look at the mighty GTX 600, GTX 700, and now GTX 900 cards compared to their competitors.

Yeah the arrogance of NV is unbelievable. They seem to have actually believed that people would never catch on to this little scheme and just continue to blindly throw money at them. I think people are really waking up to how poor their shiny new card would perform in the brand new titles starting to roll out.

Unless you're planning to wait until the dust after the launch settles, the 1060 is not really challenged by 480.
Face it AMD supporters, going by the review numbers 1060 will be faster in 90% of the games you've got on your PC, maybe even more than that, draw less power, run a lot cooler and be a lot quieter. Unless all you've got on your PC is aots, hitman and warhammer lachen.gif

A few pages back, a shill asked for one game where the 1060 is faster and got 3 in response against the 480. That too DX11. Are you saying that people who buy the 1060 should only play games coming out with DX11 as thats where the 1060 manages to beat the 480 and that too thanks to the incompetence of AMD. Can we compare aftermarket 1060's to aftermarket 480's

should we compare reference 1060 cause there are no aib 480s although the card has been launched 3 weeks ago ?

lol you guys are so friggin funny maybe we should convince vendors to ask every client "are you sure what you're doing is fair for AMD?" before each 1060 is ordered

hahahaha lachen.gif

If a person buys Nvidia after a 780ti being dumped on by a 290X, vendors should rather give free vaseline to buyers of 1080/1070/1060 cards with extended expiry dates tongue.gif

You forgot Black Ops 3. wink.gif

Seriously though, in this day and age of terribad optimization and broken ports being the norm, waiting until the dust after launch settles before picking up the game is actually the smart thing to do. Especially if it's a Ubisoft release, then you'll want to wait at least 3 months for them to patch out half the issues.

Or maybe I'm in the minority, but I honestly can't understand the mentality of those who pay the full $60 and then complain about broken titles on launch day. I mean, what did you expect honestly?

The games that are on people's PCs are games theyve played already. Having a card for games they buy now and in the future is where it matters. Itll play last gen games as good as the 1060 or better with AIB and the card with most solid future by far is the RX 480. I think AMD will gain a good chunk of marketshare with Polaris.

Day one after 1060 launch and you're desperately grasping for amd shill's last resort, the Kepler vs Hawaii case. Do you have so little to say about the current performance of the launched cards that you have to bring that up ?

Well history does repeat itself. Doubly so in case of Nvidia. Good thing you have hope though
