1060 much as expected really , good in DX11 but not as good as the AMD card in DX12

I'd have to go with the AMD card for future proofing as I don't buy a graphic card every year

Face it AMD supporters, going by the review numbers 1060 will be faster in 90% of the games you've got on your PC, maybe even more than that, draw less power, run a lot cooler and be a lot quieter. Unless all you've got on your PC is aots, hitman and warhammer lachen.gif
its not even faster in AotS wink.gif (or maybe by ~1 frame faster depending on what bench you look at) - http://www.overclock.net/t/1605162/various-1060-news-info-reviews/860#post_25361257

same for WH - http://www.techspot.com/review/1209-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060/page3.html

these are pretty telling .. :

Day one after 1060 launch and you're desperately grasping for amd shill's last resort, the Kepler vs Hawaii case. Do you have so little to say about the current performance of the launched cards that you have to bring that up ?
some people are just stuck in the past rolleyes.gif

It's much faster in Quantum Break, Gears of War, Doom, Hitman, while still being faster in the titles you mentioned.... throttling ;D
post #1075 of 1449
is throttling the new excuse now ? rolleyes.gif generally throttling is bad, but with AMD fans its a cool feature that makes AMD cards even better thumb.gif

cause Ive already linked 1390Mhz 480 results and it was only trading blows with a 1800+ Mhz 1060

Throttling is no excuse. Its incompetence. And the 480 showed that. If AMD were asked to change the light bulb, they'd bring the whole ceiling down.
The issue of the reference throttling is an important one though, if we consider the custom cards. If they remove this throttling and, more accurately, actually run at the stated boost clock (1266 = 1150-1240 on ref), custom card performance can be a lot higher.

You do understand that AMD is asking 0$ for that cooler, right? NV is asking from $50 to $100. So it is a damn good excuse as no-one should buy reference (except if you want to WC)

exactly

so you should buy a custom 1060 instead for the best card overall and you dont even have to wait till August to do so !

Yes, but when you have a new card coming out with newer tech and features, you want to put your best foot forward and AMD always puts the one that has gangrene
