It will easily beat the 1060 in all those games once OCing comes into play (not like its significantly beaten right now anyway) and by this time next year that performance advantage will grow to laughable status. Not to mention the cards are actually available and you can still easily get 4GB ones for $200 that unlock to 8GB right now whereas you have to do a fair bit of searching to find 1060's at decent prices. But that's just me, I am already going the 480 route for my backup rig, others are free to their own opinions...

51 of the 56 games tested from all the review sites around the world 1060 has double digit % leads on most of those 51 games. You can buy a 480 for 200 if you can find one, but its not a "better card".

In countries where 1060 is cheaper or equal to RX480,its not even a contest.Buyer doesn't have to think or contemplate which one to buy.Only where RX480 is cheaper is it worth debating which one to choose. All i know everyone expected AMD to offer significantly better perf/$ than Nvidia. This is certainly not the case with RX480.The 4gb model does offer better perf/$ (in US) but not significantly enough to not make people spend extra $50 and get the superior card.

nice summary and more reality check. rep+

p.s. would be nice to see 480 vs 1060 overclocked to the max comparisons in various games, because another advantage of 1060 is that it overclocks MUCH better than 480.

if you look at this

From 1310/4000 to 1370/4400 , You get 11% boost.for 4%OC , You get 11% perf? strange

RX480 is a better card in which world? Yes it is cheaper but it definitely isn't faster. How are people coming up with these conclusions when every review says otherwise?

Yet in pretty much every new API game 1060 loses. So if you want future proof, rx 480 is no brainer.

Then you get a 1070 and move up to 1440p if you want future proof nonsense.
