Between the 10-series threads I saw someone post that their DPC was fixed with 369.05 and put it around one the same as one of their Maxwell cards. I've never come across the issues on either of my 1080s or my Titan X so far that people have complained about, so I'm not sure.

Its 50/50 as far as I can tell. Some on this forums have had the latency under control, but you also have some who continue to have it. Besides, I get the feeling that this might be the whole frame pacing issue from 2012 for CFX users where some users reported to have not had the issue but it was just a placebo effect where they were either neutered or were not sensitive enough to stutters. Either ways, Nvidia has the patch out and there are still reports of people facing issue on their pascal cards on this forum and on their official forum.
I'll have to look deeper into it. I know it's been said to affect audio quite a bit to the point it would cause stuttering there. That's something I would definitely notice, but once again, I don't know enough details about it to say. I read an article a week or so ago and I didn't get the impression that it was something affecting me.

The patch works only for some and overall the DPC is still too high for professional use or what you may want for a smooth running PC.

This is what I get with no tuning of my system what so ever, just browsing and playing YouTube video. 30-80us, when not playing YT video I get 30-50us. As common the network driver has the highest latency but 85us isn't that bad for me.

Now when you install Nvidia GPU and driver I doubt you will get this low. You may get something like 850us for Nvidia driver. Hell even several thousand has been reported when I look into the OCN NV DPC thread, 2300-5700us, insane.

Thanks for the info. I'm posting in the Latency thread as to not throw this one too much off-track, but I'll ask my remaining questions there smile.gif.

Picked up the MSI Gaming X 1060 the other day and has been great so far. It's a nice update from my aging 680. I really don't even gave that much these days but wanted to get something newer that used less power and ran cooler. Had some troubles installing the drivers initially because apparently you need the 1511 update, so I had to do that, but now all is well.

I retained my afterburner fan curve from the 680 so I have the fan at 40% until 40C and then linear increase to 70% at 70C. I'd rather have lower temps than 0% fan since I can't really hear the thing anyways. Idle temps on the card are 30C (ambient about 25C) and gaming only gets to 60-65C with 100% load. Great upgrade from the 680 that was idling at 38-40 and gaming at 80-85, though this was obviously to be expected with the blower design vs open air. I haven't run any benchmarks or really stressed the thing but I put on a +137 core to get up to a solid 2100 and +250 on the mem and all seems to be working fine. Maybe at some point I'll actually try and hit the max and stress test it. Btw this is a large, heavy, and well-built card!

My friend picked up the same card and he is enjoying it as well. I know he's been OC'ing a little, so I'll have to check and see what he ended up with thumb.gif.

I got a question for all owners.

Out of the box, no OC. What clocks were you boosting to?

Mine had 1950MHz.

i would probably have bought into that if only the rx480 is just as cool and as light powered as the 1060.

in my town, the MSI 1060 gaming is just roughly 30 bucks more expensive than reference 480, so i figured aib 480 is just gonna be the same price as the 1060 even if i am willing to wait for them

might as well not.
