A lot of reviews I've seen show the card reaching a max of 75c with the default fan curve so If it's reaching 80c then it's getting little to no airflow.
Thats 77c, and 82c with an overclock.
Also from newegg reviews on this card:
"The temperatures are not that great, on average they sit around 75 - 80c"
"Thermal performance is weak. This particular card (ACX3.0 base) shoots up to 80° Celsius while running Valley Benchmark within 10 mins and heats my desk area"
I think im gonna stay away from EVGA this go round, these dual fan cards should be MAXING at 72c or so, they shouldnt even get close to 80c.
Ill be looking at the MSI, shame its red tho
