You had TEN YEARS to come up with a good script...that's pathetic.

Honestly I'm waay over the hype for this game. I wanted it so many years ago like everyone else.

Thats why this news is fake and made up.

Game would have been made a long time ago if Valve wanted ut to be made. Its just not happening

Play through Quake 2, and then play Half Life.

Just having any spoken dialogue at all was a huge deal, and not only did Half Life have it, but it felt natural and dynamic.
Half Life is still one of the best examples of how storytelling should be accomplished in a game: Zero Narration. Even Half Life 2 didn't do as well as the original, it had better interaction and character development, but a just few too many instances of wrenching control from the player.
(And that's one thing that id didn't get "perfect" with the 2016 rendition of DOOM, I feel like smashing my head on the wall every time one of those two minute expositions comes up while I'm practicing for Ultra Nightmare. Even the little narration there is in DOOM is still way too much, they never should have stopped the player for more than ten seconds at any point).
Half Life isn't just a "good game", it's the archetypal example of how to integrate story into a first person shooter while making no compromises on gameplay.

I don't think we'll see HL3 any time soon really, if ever.

It's too hyped, it's too important, and due to the way Valve works (people pick up projects that they want to) no one wants to touch HL3 with a barge pole due to fear of making the first bad (or perceived-to-be-bad-due-to-overhyping) Half Life game.

Would you want the responsibility of making one of the most anticipated, sought-after games?

Plus Valve are swimming in vats of cash like Scrooge McDuck without making HL3, so why would they bother?

If anything HL3 is an unnecessary risk for Valve.

It was the first ever fps with such massive story and level system. It changed the market.

same here. And I played the original back in the day when it first was published; don't get me wrong, it was a super good game that I enjoyed to the core, but I never felt the sensation that I was playing something revolutionary, mostly because I had already seen most of those "innovations" in other games that were immediately forgotten by the masses.
The game itself isn't worth half its hype, but I agree with the gentleman that said HL success is mostly due to mods.

The Lab was made and brought out this year?
DOTA 2 in 2013
CS:GO in 2012
Portal 2 in 2011

Granted they don't need to turn out a polished turd every year like the other franchises we're sick of but they still make games. Valve doesn't internally work like other Software companies but if you exclude the ViVe launch titlle "The Lab" then it's been 4 years since their last game, which IMHO is a decent development cycle for anything they maybe working on. Who knows? Valve does tend to keep tight-lipped about anything coming out so we won't know and all these leaks are just that, rumours really.

Valve could get fat off of STEAM for the rest of their lives but they do make games, just not as many as others because they have no real demands set by either investors or publishers.

Agreed, but I think the only reason they would release HL3 would be to have it as part of a plan to get major adoption of SteamOS, as they did with HL2 and MS did with Halo and as Nintendo seems to be doing with the new Zelda.
