new main mouse... at least until the new logitech one.

EDIT: also this has to be one of the worst side button designs ever. why are they so far apart? and why do they stick out so far? *** is going on!?
Probably one of my only gripes with the DM1 Pro (non-S) was that stiff braided cable. No matter what I did all be it bungee, tape, fabric softener (just kidding), the mouse was so light that you can seriously feel a little feedback from the cable. Other than that, the 3310 on the first DM1 wasn't too shabby at all. If only manufacturers gave their consumers a choice: a) Braided b) Non-braided --- is that asking for too much? tongue.gif

And ye I need to kill this cable really soon. This thing is so bad it makes logitech look competent when it comes to cables.

Let us know how the cable is once you peel that braided skin. If it's still Butt, that will be sad.

All around though, D3 is getting the thumbs all the way up.

Do we have the same mouse? My dm1 has the most flexible braided cable ive ever seen. I dont even have to use my bungee for it. G303 cable was like 100 times worse..

Last I checked (lol). Then again, if you're used to gaming with Zowie mice (those glorious non-braided cables) or even better, using my G900 (wirelessly), that braided cord is something else. All kidding aside, I'd say my copy (not saying that's the way all copies are) had a cable so stiff that I swore the manufacturers dipped the whole thing in starch or something.

i like these kinds of cables much more than the zowie cables... it's rigid enough that it stays upwards while in the bungee but also flexible enough to not piss me off..

zowie cables are so heavy and just lay on the pad out of the bungee instead of actually going upwards..

Out of all the complaints of the DM mice, the stiff cable is one of the most reoccurring things pointed out. Sounds like you got lucky.

That is quite an observation. Actually, it's the first time I've seen here on OCN the Zowie cables described as 'heavy'. The first batch of DM1s had an issue where the tip where the cable connects to the front of the mouse was pointing DOWNwards. You had to bend it a bit so it wouldn't force the braided cable to drag on your pad. As for rubber cables vs. braided cables, it's all about one's preferences. I have both but if I had a choice, I'd prefer rubber. You prefer otherwise. We're neither right or wrong. We just have our preferences. thumb.gif

Hall0, got this mouse yesterday (matte) and here's my short review after few hours of gaming. Just for reference my previous mice I'm comparing this to are: G100s, G900, G303, G502, G500, MX518, MX500, WMO, EC2-A, EC1-A, FK1, Naos, Alcor, Rival, Sabre, and Abyssus, and I'm a serious FPS g33k with two decades of experience.

Shape:
I had high expectations for the shape from pictures (I had never tried Sensei), but I was little disappointed that the mouse actually has more curvature in the side that I thought it would have. Nevertheless it feels good and the material is very comfy, but a bit slippery with dry hands. It might take some time to get used to in order to have a firm grip that does not alter during gameplay. Weight and balance are great, although I wouldn't mind it being even lighter. Overall good and the larger shape (compared to G303/G100) gives more stability while losing some maneuverability.

Sensor:
Feels very accurate and responsive on 1600 DPI/1280 EDPI, absolutely nothing wrong here. Lift-off distance feels perfect as well.

Buttons:
M1/M2 are light and responsive, nothing close to G303 good but good. Very good results on humanbenchmark reaction test. However, the side buttons are mushy, need too much force and very bad overall. Fortunately I rarely use them.

Scroll wheel:
Very bad, mushy and can't be used for bunnyhopping in CSGO.

Cable:
In my unit at least the cable faces upwards from the unit and is very unobtrusive. Much better than expected and best braided cable I have encountered.

Feet:
Very consistent and smooth glide, but that's something most mice have when new. Hope they don't wear out any time soon although an extra set was included.

How's the matte coating? is it kinda smooth like the Mionix mice or slipperly like the KPM?
