Rx 480 custom cooling discussion - Page 15

I am about to watercooling my Sapphire RX480 Nitro (non +). I already have bought an EK-HWBot Universal Block. Monday I will order some copper heatsink. Does anyone have a previous advise? It will be my first watercooled graphic card, so I'm feeling kinda rookie again.

You need to use high quality thermal tape that's rated for 200C or more or thermal glue for the heatsinks on the VRM or it won't stick and make sure you have airflow going over the card and watch for VRM temps using hwinfo. Don't let it get over 125C.

From my experience with the EK Supreme HF VGA, be very careful to not over torque the screws when mounting to avoid flexing the pcb.

With my reference card I have a 120mm AIO on it now and the core gets to 50C maximum. My problem is the VRMs. If their heatsink gets over 80C (digital thermometer) it throttles me. How do you guys attach heatsinks to the back of the card? thermal glue?

I am at 1.25v and I think stable at 1480 but rock solid at 1460. Mem is at 2100, haven't touched that really.

Cut it out from a finned aluminium slab that I found lol.
