I'm pretty much finished, card is very silent and i never noticed any stability issues.
I also leave the VRM temperatures for now, they are more of placebo than are real hardware issue.

But here is one last "ghetto mod" tongue.gif

Jurbeli, make sure you put a 120mm fan on top of the two cards to cool the memory and VRMs.

Yeah, I have a side fan in my case pretty close to the cards. My VRM temps seems to be pretty decent actually. Fan running 500-600rpm I'm getting around 80C VRM in 3DMark and games with ~1100mV.

well put my hd7850 fans on the 480 to a test run today.. Runs cooler and quieter for sure.. I set fan minimum to 1500 and max to 3000, I think 3000rpm is the max fan rpm or the dual-x fans...
no heatsinks on the vrm, one heatsink over the vram thats under the copper heatpipes.. ran stock at first and this setup was laughing at it... then I overclocked to 1320/2150 and it still holding at 73c after 10minutes loop of Heaven...

at idle

at 1320/2150 after 10 minutes. Its so much quieter even with the dual-x fans at 3000rpm..

not throttled either.

Do you guys have a guess at how well the non-reference cards will overclock?
I'm going to throw a guess out about 1450, maybe 1500max. If the bios can be modded that might be a bit more

ok 1350/2150 Heaven loop for 10 minutes.. It actually ran cooler at 1350/2150 than at 1320/2150, I did bump the voltage up to 1100...
I think the sapphire hd7870 ghz edition fan mod is a good one..

now at idle gpu at 27c, vrm at 36c smile.gif

1450 would be about 15% putting it significantly above a non-OC 390x. I wonder how the power draw would compare?
