people are waiting for the AIBs cards but the reference with good cooling do good...example...this guy, post over at videocardz... reference with a hack job to a gelid icy vision

Shaun Fosmark to -> David Burgo

Reference off the shelf card, gelid icy vision cooler, dbaurer' bios with 1.3v

core is 1400-1475mhz

this a reference card...AIBs with proper cooling and no hackjob should be getting better efficiency , so i think 1375-1420mhzz should be the norm and stable without to much...so far the asus strix does no look good...got to wait for the sapphire o powercolor and msi to see how they do...

If I'm not mistaken the OC non-reference cards have stock overclocks at 1330Mhz or less. That makes a potential of 1375+ seem pretty unlikely for a median card.

Pictured below is my Sapphire 480 with a four heat pipe cooler, fans and shroud from an old Sapphire 7870 ghz edition gpu, cost me like $25.. I've ran benchmarks at 1400/2200 and reliable gaming at 1350/2200 for several hours at a time.. with no heat sinks on the vrm's redface.gif

the asic quality is 90%

I just wish amd would fix Wattman (aka Crashman).

So the Xtreme 3 wont fit with the stock heat plate without cutting/smashing the fins on the xtreme 3. See the offending area below circled in red, the metal that loops above the 6 pin is getting in the way.

So instead of trying to modify it I am just going to send it back and get some twin turbo 2s again, they should work since their fin orientation would allow the stock plate to sit in between the fins.

I can say though that the mounting plate fits correctly if you use the 3.5mm standoffs (which don't seem to come with the TT3 or X4) instead of the 2.5mm standoffs. You just have to have a 1mm shim, so hopefully the twin turbo 2s will fit the same way.

Here is a test fit of the bracket.

At an angle there is just the slightest gap between the stock plate and mounting plate.
